Corporate Controller

A commercial / industrial real-estate investment firm seeks an experienced Corporate Controller with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the accounting, budgeting, internal controls, policies, and procedures for the company.

  • Monitor the company's treasury functions.

  • Prepare year-end financial statements (including consolidated statements) and review tax returns.

  • Responsible for income-tax calculations (e.g. BOT, CDA, monthly installments) for both US and Canadian companies.

  • Monthly analysis of revenue, expenses, and budget variances.

  • Approve monthly GST/QST filings.

  • Prepare and monitor corporate cashflow.

  • Prepare and manage internal reports for the CFO.

  • Manage and coordinate all IT functions with an external IT firm.

  • Review and supervise work performed by the accounting team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a CPA firm.

  • CPA designation.

  • Strong knowledge of auditing and accounting.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication skills and perfectly bilingual (French / English).

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management.

  • HOPEM or similar property-management software experience; QuickBooks experience.

  • Strong Excel skills.

  • Knowledge of US accounting and tax is an asset.
